“That is out of my control. Last year’s events are part of the sport. We were just 2-2.5 minutes late in bowling the last over, and I wasn’t aware of the consequences at that moment. It was unfortunate, but I have to follow the process,” Pandya explained.

“Surya leads India as well. When I am not there, he is the ideal choice in this format, and an exciting one as well,” Hardik said.
As the national T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav recently led India to a 4-1 T20I series victory over England at home. While his leadership was commendable, his batting form was inconsistent, scoring just 38 runs in five innings.

Head coach Mahela Jayawardene provided an update on Bumrah’s progress, stating:
“Jasprit Bumrah is at the NCA. We have to wait and see their feedback on him. His progress is on a day-to-day basis, and we are closely monitoring it.”
Although Bumrah’s return date is uncertain, he is expected to join the MI squad in early April to continue his rehabilitation.
Hardik Pandya, who will captain MI after his suspension, emphasized that Bumrah’s presence in the dressing room is a huge advantage.
“I am lucky that I have three captains playing with me—Rohit, Surya, and Bumrah. They always place an arm around my shoulder and are there when I need any help,” Pandya said.
